ROASTING COFFEE AT THE INTERSECTION OF ART & DESIGN.

As Co-Founder of Color Field Coffee Co., an independent coffee roastery based in East Boothbay, Maine, I work across brand identity, product development, photography, marketing, and business operations to build a coffee company shaped by creativity and a connection to place.

My work encompasses the development of the brand's visual identity, packaging, product photography, and digital presence, alongside the practical demands of roasting, merchandising, and growing a small business. Working across creative and operational disciplines, I bring ideas from concept through production, balancing expressive design with the realities of an independent coffee company.

I developed Color Field's visual identity around the idea that coffee can be both an everyday ritual and a creative experience. Drawing inspiration from modern art, the brand uses expressive color, typography, and photography to establish a distinctive presence.

The identity was designed to feel contemporary, approachable, and flexible, with a visual language that extends across packaging, digital content, and physical products.

Beyond its appearance, the brand needed to function within the practical constraints of a small roasting operation, balancing visual consistency with changing coffees, production requirements, and new product development.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT

photography & digital content

I produce original photography and digital content to communicate the character of Color Field's products and brand.

From product imagery to promotional materials, my work establishes a consistent visual presence while supporting online merchandising, marketing, and customer engagement.

Packaging & product systems

I developed a packaging approach that uses color and graphic composition to distinguish individual coffees while maintaining a recognizable identity across the collection.

The system accommodates different origins, blends, and roast profiles, creating consistency without sacrificing the individuality of each product.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & CREATIVE DIRECTION

Color Field's coffee collection is shaped by experimentation, from sourcing and roasting to blending, naming, and presentation.

Working across product development and creative direction, I help translate individual coffees into distinctive offerings, considering both their flavor profiles and how they are introduced to customers.

The result is a collection that brings together thoughtful roasting, expressive design, and a consistent brand experience.

Building an independent business

Color Field operates at the intersection of creative practice and small-business entrepreneurship. Alongside developing the brand, I contribute to the operational decisions that make it possible to bring products to market.

From production planning and inventory management to pricing, packaging, and customer relationships, the work requires an understanding of how creative decisions translate into real products and sustainable operations.

As the company develops its retail and wholesale relationships, I continue to refine the systems and presentation that support its growth.

Color Field Coffee Co. is an exploration of how design, craft, and everyday rituals can come together in a single product.

Through branding, photography, product development, and entrepreneurship, I've worked to build an identity that extends beyond coffee itself—one that celebrates creativity, curiosity, and the experience of making something from the ground up.
